The Devorak home in Ventura needed an addition for a home office and they also wanted to explore rental potential. The lot was constrained but beautiful with ocean glimpses.
We designed an addition that added 300 sq ft to the main house for a home office, then converted an existing 320 sq ft portion of the house into a separate ADU with its own entrance. The combined project added functionality without exceeding lot coverage limits.
Single permit, dual purpose outcome. The addition gave the main house a premium feature. The ADU conversion opened rental income. Both spaces read as intentional design, not a retrofit.
